Did you know T2 is B Corp certified? Short for Benefit Corporation, this sought-after accreditation is only awarded to the most sustainable, progressive and inclusive businesses. B Corp certified organisations set an example to others, proving it really is possible to balance profit and purpose.
T2 joins a worldwide B Corp community and becomes one of the many tea brands to gain this certification, along with fellow ekaterra brand, Pukka Herbs.
Using growth for good
T2 is always working hard to benefit both people and planet – from the first leaf to the last sip. That means reducing inequality, creating healthier environments, and building stronger communities – supported by jobs with dignity and purpose.
Launched in Australia 20 years ago, T2 uses its profits and global reach to create a positive impact for colleagues, communities and the environment.
In 2020, T2 completed the goal of sourcing all their tea from certified sustainable farms. And then, in 2021, they finished making 100% of their packaging recyclable, reusable or compostable. In fact, switching T2’s retail bags to uncoated paper (without any plastic), is now saving over 100 tonnes of waste from landfill each year.
T2 is all about celebrating difference by making a difference. Like everyone at ekaterra, they recognise the importance of creating a diverse team with people of different ages, backgrounds, and identities. A few years ago, they introduced a process known as ‘blind recruiting’. Now they shortlist all job candidates without the hiring manager knowing their name, date of birth, gender, educational institution or hiring appearance. This is a great way to avoid unconscious bias and create a diverse blend of talented people.
